A. “Strongman Style”

Teams of 4-5

4:00 at each station, 1 minute Rotation/Rest

Sled Pull (hand over hand)

Yoke Carry (w/barbells + bands)

Strongman style movements are an opportunity for us as athletes to vary our training and prepare for things in everyday life. Very rarely will be presented a symmetrical object like a barbell to pick up off the ground or press overhead in the real world. These objects tend to be more asymmetrical and awkward.

Movements like the hand-over-hand sled pull today also give us the chance to train a different plane of movement. For example, we are so used to performing movements like pull-ups and KB swings with the same pronated (thumbs pointing towards each other) grip. These neutral pulls differ from what we are used to and prevent injury by switching up our movement pattern to a different plane.
